Amatsu Matcha was born behind the bar at Amelia Café, our independent café in London — a place where wellness, craft, and community come together over good coffee and better conversation.
It all began when Amelia and her husband met at university and later travelled to Japan on their honeymoon. That trip became more than a memory — it sparked a deep love for Japanese tea culture, daily rituals, and the clean energy of ceremonial-grade matcha.
The name Amatsu is inspired by the Japanese interpretation of Amelia — a nod to our roots and the reverence we hold for the culture that shaped our blends. Today, Amatsu Matcha is a modern ritual brand offering functional matcha designed to energise the body, nourish the mind, and elevate your every day.

Back in London, we brought those values to life at Amelia Café. Long before “superfoods” became mainstream, our customers already knew us for smoothies infused with collagen, mushrooms, and other functional ingredients — always crafted to taste as good as they feel. The demand kept growing, and so did our passion for sourcing the purest, most purposeful ingredients we could find.
